Lufthansa Boeing 777x

broken image

  1. The launch customer of the Boeing 777X, Lufthansa, has recently retired a plethora of long-haul aircraft to account for the market conditions created by the COVID-19 pandemic. The retirements decrease the likelihood of the airline taking the Boeing 777X in the next couple of years.
  2. Lufthansa has called a reality check on the debut of its Boeing 777X aircraft, with CEO Carsten Spohr recently telling staff at an internal company meeting that the airline's first Boeing 777-9 won't realistically arrive before the second quarter of 2022, according to people in attendance, who asked not to be named discussing comments that weren't publicly made.
  3. LE BOURGET, France - GE Aviation and Lufthansa Technik AG enlarge their collaboration on Boeing 777X MRO services. The companies have signed a maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) agreement under which Lufthansa Technik will be GE's authorized service provider for the backup generator/converter (BUG and BUC) and for certain Electrical Load Management Systems (ELMS) components on the new.

However, it's believed that the new business class seats won't be installed across Lufthansa's existing jets – they could be exclusive to the Boeing 777X family. The fate of first class in the Boeing 777-9 fleet remains undecided, or at least undeclared.
